Mixed Media Abstracts and Paper Mache
It is a privilege to be a member of Images Gallery, where my pieces are exhibited with such wonderful artists' work.
After raising a family and having a singing career, making art is a relatively new venture for me. When I took a class in paper mache from Deb Pettid (Reading Reptile, The Rabbit Hole, a children's book Explorastorium”), I knew I'd found a great medium for whimsical sculptures. I've also taken painting classes from Donna Yeager, Mark Weber and Judy Talmadge, some fine local artists. My latest projects are mixed media abstracts, which I've learned are a lot harder than they look, and each brushstroke needs to be intentional.
Hopefully the animal heads will make you smile (or commission a piece!), you can admire your reflection in one of the mirrors, or see whatever you want in an abstract. That's the intention of my work.
